Job Summary

This temporary, part-time PhD position within the Department of Nuclear Medicine focuses on the development and clinical translation of molecular imaging tools, specifically utilizing Positron Emission Tomography (PET) reporter gene technology for in vivo tracking of gene vectors and their genetic payload. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and optimizing gene vectors, performing in vitro and in vivo characterization, radiolabeling vectors for PET/CT imaging, conducting animal studies, and analyzing complex scientific data using AI-segmentation algorithms. This role requires an excellent Master's degree in a relevant life science field, practical experience in molecular biology, cell culture, virology, or histopathology, and a strong commitment to scientific excellence. This is a unique opportunity to experience the full drug development pathway, from molecular design to clinical evaluation, within a highly interdisciplinary and translational research environment in Munich.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related field

Experience

  • Practical experience in at least two of the following fields: molecular biology & biochemistry, mammalian cell culture, virology, histopathology
  • Willingness to perform in vivo experiments with mice
  • Professional experience in experimental design, realization, and analysis of scientific data
