Job Summary
This role is a unique opportunity for a highly qualified Chemist (M.Sc. or equivalent) to join the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Uniklinikum Würzburg as a Doctoral Researcher. Operating in a part-time capacity (approx. 25 hours per week) starting January 1, 2026, you will be integral to a third-party funded research project focused on developing radioactive pharmaceuticals for adrenal gland imaging using Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Day-to-day tasks include performing preparative organic synthesis of potential enzyme inhibitors and marking precursors, establishing radiosyntheses for radiofluorinated PET tracers, and presenting findings at scientific conferences leading to publications. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in preparative organic chemistry and be willing to handle radioactivity, contributing to a project aiming for future clinical studies.
