Job Summary
This role involves working within the Global Medicovigilance and Patient Safety department of a major medical device company, focusing on fulfilling statutory vigilance obligations for medical products introduced to the global market. The Safety Scientist will be responsible for identifying, documenting, and reporting serious incidents, trends, and recalls to regulatory authorities in a timely manner. Day-to-day tasks include assessing technical test results, generating and analyzing trend statistics, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating health hazard analyses. A key component is ensuring the documentation and implementation of product recalls and monitoring internal vigilance deadlines. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology, Pharmacy, or Medicine, possesses excellent MS Office skills, and is fluent in both German and English. This position is a parental leave replacement based in Melsungen, Hessen, offering a hybrid work model and the opportunity to develop professionally in the critical field of patient safety and medical device regulation.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Biology, Pharmacy, or Medicine, or equivalent qualification
Experience
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 14971 standards
- Knowledge of Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC and Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745
- Knowledge of international medical device-related regulatory requirements (e.g., US 21 CFR Part 803) is advantageous
- Professional experience in a self-reliant and cross-functional working environment
