Job Summary

This challenging scientific role involves acting as a key expert in developing and utilizing induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models for neurological diseases, focusing specifically on neurodegeneration, pain, and neuroinflammation. Day-to-day responsibilities include the independent planning, execution, and evaluation of complex experiments using human iPSCs, alongside the development and optimization of differentiation protocols for neuronal and nociceptive cell types. The successful candidate will provide technical and professional guidance to lab staff, mentor junior team members, and serve as a scientific expert in client discussions, preparing project plans and associated cost estimates. Key qualifications include a PhD in a relevant life science field and 2-3 years of post-doctoral research experience utilizing advanced 2D and 3D neuronal models, coupled with proven expertise in iPSC cultivation, functional assays, and strict adherence to GLP-like standards to ensure data quality.

Required Skills

Education

PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Medicine (MD), Veterinary Medicine, or related fields

Experience

  • 2–3 years post-PhD academic and/or industrial research experience with neuronal 2D and/or 3D models in neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, and/or pain
  • Professional experience in conducting and troubleshooting iPSC Reprogramming and Cultivation protocols
  • Demonstrated scientific expertise through documented contributions or high-impact publications
  • Experience in leading a small research team (beneficial)
