Job Summary
The City of Bremerhaven is seeking an ICT Specialist to join the 'Command and Operational Resources' staff unit within the Local Police Authority. This critical role focuses on the lifecycle management of hardware, software, and networks, with a strong emphasis on telecommunications systems, control center technology, and mobile telephony. Day-to-day tasks include designing, implementing, monitoring, optimizing, and troubleshooting these systems, as well as providing essential user support and analyzing billing and performance data. Successful candidates must possess a degree in ICT, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant vocational qualification combined with five years of professional experience. This position requires strong analytical and conceptual skills, team spirit, and the willingness to participate in weekly on-call rotation duties, offering a secure, responsible, and versatile role within a modern public administration setting.
Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed degree in Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, OR completed vocational training in ICT (e.g., IT Specialist, IT System Electronics Technician, Information Electronics Technician) combined with required professional experience.
Experience
- 5 years of professional experience in telecommunications or data processing system support (if holding vocational training)
- Practical experience in handling TK systems, Unify/Atos, emergency call facilities, and mobile telephony
- Professional experience in supporting mobile devices (desirable)
- Professional experience in optimizing information technology infrastructures (desirable)

- Must be willing to participate in weekly on-call duty (Rufbereitschaftsdienste). Must possess a valid Class B driving license. Subject to a mandatory reliability check (§ 145 BremPolG) required for employment within the Local Police Authority.
