Job Summary

This role involves providing essential technical support for scientific research within the Molecular and Cell Biology domain at the Natural Sciences Faculty of Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), a leading research institution. Day-to-day responsibilities include executing a wide range of experimental molecular and cell biology tasks, such as preparing recombinant DNA, constructing expression vectors, producing retroviruses, and cultivating eukaryotic cell cultures and organoids. The assistant will also perform immunofluorescence staining and microscopic imaging, manage laboratory inventory, handle ordering, and contribute to safety management, including coordinating lab instructions. The ideal candidate holds a completed BTA qualification or equivalent, possesses strong knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry, and demonstrates excellent organizational skills and teamwork. This position offers a dynamic, collaborative environment and is initially limited-term, with the potential for extension.
