Job Summary
This Technical Assistant role, based primarily in Göttingen (approx. 75% of time) with some work in Bonn, acts as a crucial interface between the Center for Biodiversity Monitoring and Conservation Research (ZBM) and external project partners on the GoodWeedBadWeed project. The initiative focuses on designing sustainable agriculture by improving the understanding of the ecological value of weeds for biodiversity conservation. Day-to-day responsibilities include the organization, setup, and execution of field trials investigating pollinator-weed interactions, alongside meticulous data collection and digitalization. The assistant will also be responsible for processing and analyzing various samples (plants, insects, environmental samples), maintaining protocols, and ensuring quality assurance. Candidates must possess a completed technical qualification (e.g., Biological-Technical Assistant), strong organizational and PC skills (Microsoft Office), and the physical capability to handle demanding fieldwork. Good English skills and a Class B driver's license are mandatory prerequisites for this fixed-term, part-time position.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a Biological-Technical Assistant, Agricultural-Technical Assistant, or Biology Laboratory Technician (state-recognized), or other training with equivalent verifiable skills. Pesticide expertise certificate (advantageous).
Experience
- Professional experience in structuring and organizing work processes and experimental series independently
- Ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork during the field season
- Practical professional experience (advantageous)
- Experience driving VW buses or similar vehicles (desirable)

- Part-time position (75%, 29.87 hours/week). Fixed-term contract until December 31, 2027. Work split between Bonn (approx. 1/4) and Göttingen (approx. 3/4). Driver's license Class B (III) required. Willingness to drive service vehicles.
