The Munich City Drainage (Münchner Stadtentwässerung) is seeking a dedicated Engineer specializing in Civil Engineering, Environmental Technology, or Disposal/Waste Management to join their Property Drainage department. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality of life in Munich and the water quality of the Isar River. Day-to-day responsibilities involve reviewing and approving drainage plans for the construction and renovation of private property drainage systems, including commercial and residential properties. You will ensure compliance with technical standards and city regulations, specifically concerning separator systems and rainwater infiltration. A key part of the job is providing expert consultation to builders and planners and managing the service hotline for the entire property drainage sub-department. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant university degree, strong German language skills (C1), and substantial experience in civil or sewer construction projects.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Protection/Technology, Supply Technology, or Waste/Disposal Technology with a focus on wastewater technology, or a comparable engineering discipline.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the execution of construction projects
  • Strong experience in deep or sewer construction is preferred
  • Knowledge of the Munich sewer network is advantageous
  • Knowledge of common construction and renovation procedures for sewers and property drainage systems is advantageous
  • Knowledge of relevant technical and legal regulations is advantageous
