This PhD position, located within the Department of Internal Medicine 3 – Rheumatology & Immunology at Uniklinikum Erlangen and FAU, focuses on cutting-edge research in musculoskeletal function and mechanobiology. The doctoral candidate will investigate methods for detecting patterns in hand function related to disease activity in inflammatory arthritis patients. Key responsibilities include biomechanical analysis of hand movements, statistical analysis of parameters, and data collection using advanced motion capture and EMG techniques. The role requires an above-average Master’s degree in fields like medical engineering, movement science, or computer science, coupled with experience in motion capture and strong knowledge in biomechanics, statistics, or machine learning.
