Job Summary

This PhD position, part of the EU-funded MINDnet Doctoral Network, focuses on researching adaptability and memory in physical reservoir computing systems, specifically through modeling and nonlinear dynamics analysis of complex laser systems. The role involves conducting bifurcation analysis of optical computing devices, investigating machine learning tasks requiring short-term memory (like time series prediction and speech recognition), and predicting optimal operation regions using augmented memory techniques. The successful candidate will join an international team of 15 PhD students across Europe, participate in four training schools and two workshops, and undertake mandatory secondments (minimum 3 months total) at HP Enterprise (Belgium), Technical University of Denmark, and University College London. This is a unique opportunity for a researcher with a Master's degree in Physics or related fields to specialize in neuromorphic computing, photonics, and AI, contributing to revolutionary advancements in energy-efficient processing technologies.
