Job Summary

This full-time, fixed-term Technical Assistant role supports the Plant Genetics team at the TUM School of Life Sciences, focusing on improving major crops like maize under the influence of climate change. The successful candidate will perform essential research support across field and laboratory settings. Daily duties involve cultivating wheat plants, harvesting plant and soil samples, chemical processing of samples, and executing core molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, and DNA/RNA extraction. The role also requires meticulous documentation using MS Office and managing laboratory inventory and supplies. Candidates must possess formal training equivalent to a Biological, Chemical, or Laboratory Technical Assistant, coupled with practical experience in molecular biology, microbiology, and plant handling. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to cutting-edge genetic research within an international and dynamic academic environment.
