Job Summary
This role is a unique opportunity for a doctoral candidate to shape the future of sustainable energy systems through cutting-edge research at the University of Wuppertal. The successful candidate will focus on developing intelligent network management for Smart Grids and sector-coupled network congestion management, specifically advancing preventive concepts towards active grid control. Day-to-day tasks involve designing resource-efficient and emission-free power systems, analyzing socio-economic factors like user acceptance through household surveys, and coordinating project workshops with cooperation partners. This position requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering with a focus on power engineering, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently on complex scientific topics. It is a full-time, fixed-term position aimed at facilitating the completion of a doctoral degree, offering flexible hours and a supportive academic environment.

Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (preferably electrical power engineering) or Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering/Energy Technology
Experience
- Completed university degree (Master or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (preferably electrical power engineering) or Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering/Energy Technology with at least a good evaluation
- Good knowledge in the field of electrical power supply engineering
- Readiness and ability for independent scientific work
- Professional experience in self-directed and goal-oriented work

- This is a qualification position intended to promote a doctoral procedure (Doctoral Candidate). The position is fixed-term for up to 3 years, with potential extension to complete the doctorate within legal limits (WissZeitVG). Start date is April 15, 2026.
