Job Summary

This role involves actively supporting expert inspectors and specialists in the acceptance testing of railway signaling and control technology (LST) systems, focusing on maintenance activities at the Cologne location. The Testing Assistant will be responsible for conducting acceptance tests of standardized procedures, performing practical work on complex rail systems, and collaborating across technical disciplines. Key tasks include creating detailed test reports and expert opinions, conducting quality checks on relevant documentation, and verifying that installed LST components comply with planning and approval specifications. The ideal candidate must possess an electrical engineering vocational qualification, ideally supplemented by a Technician or Master Craftsman certification, and must have successfully completed the Signal Mechanic training and certification for standardized procedures (Kz 4). This position requires strong organizational skills, flexibility for occasional work during weekends, holidays, or nights, and a commitment to continuous professional development through a dedicated qualification program.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training (e.g., Electrician or Electronics Technician); Ideally, State-Certified Technician or Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering

Experience

  • Successfully completed vocational training in electrical engineering (e.g., Electrician or Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering)
  • Successfully completed functional training as a Signal Mechanic
  • Certification in standardized procedures (Kz 4)
  • Ideally, several years of professional experience in the maintenance of signaling and control technology
