Job Summary

This role involves actively supporting expert inspectors in partial and final acceptance testing of railway control and safety technology (CST) systems within the largest and most complex rail network in Europe. The Testing Assistant will perform practical work on complex railway systems, participate in cross-disciplinary technical activities, and ensure the quality of relevant documentation. Key responsibilities include creating detailed test reports and expert opinions, verifying installed CST components align with planning and approvals, and participating in specialized LST (Control and Safety Technology) projects and training events. Candidates must possess a completed electrical/electrotechnical vocational qualification (e.g., Electrician, Mechatronics Technician) and demonstrate strong organizational skills, flexibility, and a willingness to work occasionally during nights, weekends, or holidays on site. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in an electrotechnical field (e.g., Electrician, Electronics Technician, Mechatronics Technician) or qualification as a Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical/electrotechnical maintenance or installation
  • Professional experience in the maintenance of Control and Safety Technology (LST) or training as a Switch and Signal Mechanic (ideally)
  • Experience working independently and demonstrating responsibility
