Job Summary

The Bergische Universität Wuppertal is seeking a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in) to join the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Safety Technology, focusing on New Manufacturing Technologies and Materials. This role involves leading a research project centered on the alloy development of duplex steels for Additive Manufacturing (AM). Day-to-day tasks include conducting advanced material testing, preparing scientific publications and reports, and presenting findings at conferences and project meetings. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising student theses and contributing to teaching activities (4 LVS). Key qualifications include a Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics, coupled with strong German and English proficiency. Practical experience in AM techniques (WAAM, L-PBF, L-DED) and computer-aided material development (e.g., MATLAB, Calphad) is highly desirable, offering an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a dynamic, international research environment with strong industry collaborations.
