This role involves ensuring the continuous operation and high security of IT-supported operational systems and networked/non-networked facilities at a critical nuclear waste storage site in Biblis, Germany. The technician will be responsible for the continuous inspection, maintenance, installation, and setup of these systems, including technical equipment like crane and PLC controls (e.g., Siemens Simatic S7). Key responsibilities include contributing to IT security implementation, managing access control, maintaining asset/inventory lists, and creating comprehensive system descriptions and documentation. The ideal candidate holds a qualification as an Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering or Automation Technician, possesses solid professional experience with PLCs and operational IT applications, and is keen on continuous professional development. This is a full-time, permanent position offering stability and contributing to Germany's sustainable nuclear waste management.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering, Automation Technician, or a comparable electro-technical specialization with broad IT expertise

Experience

  • Professional experience in handling programmable logic controllers (PLCs), such as Siemens Simatic S7
  • Professional experience with operational IT applications
  • Experience in troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of networked and non-networked technical systems
  • Desirable experience in network infrastructures (LAN, industrial bus systems)
