Job Summary

This fixed-term, part-time (65%) position at the University of Münster is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated scientist to pursue a doctorate while researching the evolutionary flexibility of epigenetic regulation in insects. The successful candidate will utilize cutting-edge sequencing technologies (Methyl-Seq, Cut&Tag, RNAseq) and functional validation methods (RNAi) across various beetle species to understand the evolution of epigenetic systems and the functions of DNA methyltransferases. This role requires intensive collaboration with a bioinformatics expert at the University of Leipzig, forming part of the prestigious DFG-funded Priority Programme 'Genomic Basis of Evolutionary Innovations (GEvol).' Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Biology (or a related field like Molecular Biology or Genomics) and possess strong molecular laboratory skills. The institute offers a stimulating research environment, a structured graduate program, and excellent flexibility benefits, making it an attractive position for early-career researchers.
