Job Summary

This role involves acting as a Database Expert focusing primarily on Oracle systems within the municipal IT and telecommunications division (KITT) in Jena. Day-to-day responsibilities include the full lifecycle management of Oracle database systems, encompassing installation, configuration, administration, and ongoing operational support, specifically including the Oracle Database Appliance. A critical component of the job is ensuring high availability, security, and performance through proactive monitoring, performance tuning (including SQL tuning), and implementing robust backup and recovery strategies using Oracle RMAN. The expert will also be responsible for developing automation scripts (Bash, SQL, Python) for administrative tasks, performing system updates and patches, and defining security structures (users, roles, permissions). This position requires a minimum of ten years of professional experience in Oracle database administration, strong expertise in SQL/PL/SQL, and an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification, offering an opportunity to shape the future IT architecture of a forward-thinking city administration.
