Job Summary

The University Hospital Düsseldorf (UKD) is seeking a Medical Informatics Specialist to join the Research IT department, serving as the crucial interface between researchers at the Medical Faculty and the central UKD IT infrastructure. This is a full-time, permanent position where you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of complex software projects and providing essential IT technical support to faculty researchers and dean's office staff. Key duties include administering complex software solutions, ensuring their operational stability, and contributing to the conception of new systems while strictly adhering to IT security and data protection guidelines. You will also manage relationships with external service providers. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Informatics or Medical Informatics, or equivalent experience, coupled with deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and familiarity with healthcare interface standards such as HL7 and DICOM. This role offers an opportunity to shape IT solutions in a dynamic academic medical environment, contributing directly to cutting-edge research.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as IT Specialist/IT System Administrator, or completed degree with a focus on Informatics/Medical Informatics, or equivalent skills and experience.

Experience
