Job Summary

The Düsseldorf University Hospital (UKD) is seeking a motivated PhD Researcher for a temporary, DFG-funded position within the Transregio CRC 259, focusing on cardiovascular medicine. This role, integrated into the Department of Cardiology, Pneumology, and Vascular Medicine, involves investigating the genesis and progression of aortic diseases, such as aortic stenosis and aneurysm. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the research project, executing experiments using advanced murine techniques (e.g., Wire injury, Elastase models), and performing functional analyses including echocardiography and Langendorff perfused heart models. The ideal candidate holds an M.Sc. in natural sciences or a related field and possesses experience in murine cardiac experiments. The position offers an excellent environment for scientific growth, providing access to state-of-the-art technologies like flow cytometry and advanced imaging, and fostering intensive interdisciplinary collaboration with national and international partners in a young, growing research group.
