Job Summary

The IT Network Architect will be instrumental in digitizing critical infrastructure by designing and implementing enterprise-wide network components, ranging from Access to WAN. This role involves making key technology decisions, evaluating innovative network products, and developing long-term strategies for a high-performance infrastructure, supporting a Cloud-First strategy. A core focus is on security, requiring the architect to conceptualize and implement security measures based on BSI standards and conduct regular risk audits. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience (at least five years) in complex network architecture, deep technical knowledge of LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and security protocols, and proven project management skills. This is a critical position supporting the federal highway system, offering the chance to shape the digital future of mobility in Germany.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in (Business) Informatics, IT Management, or comparable qualification, OR vocational training in the IT sector with relevant additional qualifications and professional experience.

Experience

Minimum five years of professional experience in network architecture, design, and implementation of complex network solutions
Proven experience in project planning, resource management, time scheduling, and budget control
Experience in developing complex network architectures considering scalability, performance, and security
Experience in analyzing network issues and optimizing network performance

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

Continuous professional development and certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP/CCIE) are required. The position is in a sensitive area (potentially susceptible to corruption) requiring a reliability check.
