Job Summary

This role involves comprehensive responsibilities in both economic development and grant/funding management for the city of Geesthacht, located in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. The specialist will be crucial in developing and implementing strategies for business retention and settlement, supporting start-ups, and managing the city's economic advisory board. A major focus is on funding management, requiring systematic monitoring and analysis of grant opportunities across EU, federal, state, and regional levels. Day-to-day tasks include full cycle grant application, reporting, and verification of use of funds, acting as the central interface to funding providers, and advising municipal departments. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, along with a relevant degree in public administration, business, or economics, and the commitment to obtain specialized funding management certifications.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachangestellte) with completed Angestelltenlehrgang II, OR Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration, OR Bachelor of Science in Business or Economics. Required professional development includes obtaining certification as a Funding Analyst and subsequently a Funding Manager (can be completed while employed).
