Job Summary

The Senior IT Specialist will join the IT Services Group (ISG) within the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS) at ETH Zurich. This role involves managing a complex, heterogeneous IT environment supporting staff and students across research groups. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling 1st and 2nd level support cases, prioritizing requests, and maintaining client and server infrastructures, primarily focusing on Windows but also involving macOS and Linux systems. A key aspect of the role is providing in-depth analysis and resolution for challenging hardware, software, and network issues. The specialist will also consult with research groups, collaborating closely with scientific programmers, and contribute to departmental IT processes like lifecycle, security, and compliance management.
