Job Summary
This specialist role focuses on ensuring internal security in North Rhine-Westphalia by managing and developing police control center communication systems within a modern IP-based network environment. Day-to-day tasks include conducting system analyses, identifying optimization opportunities, clarifying fundamental technical issues regarding networked communication systems and interfaces, and analyzing technical documentation for projects and contracts. The specialist will also be responsible for creating performance specifications and requirement profiles for communication systems, managing fault clearance processes via a ticket system, and performing maintenance and upkeep, including participation in 24/7 on-call rotations. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent university degree in Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, (Technical) Informatics, or a comparable technical/natural science discipline, OR successfully completed vocational training combined with further education as an Operative Professional, Master, or state-certified Technician in the aforementioned fields, OR relevant vocational training combined with extensive professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in communication technology, electrical engineering, or related technical fields (required for technician/master qualification route)
- At least three years of engineering professional experience in the specified job profile (for technician/master qualification route)
- At least six years of engineering professional experience in the specified job profile (for vocational training route)
- Basic knowledge in project management and coordination of construction/conversion measures (desirable)
- Expertise in trunked radio, networking, and telephony (desirable)

- Valid Class B driver's license; Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call duty; Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance (SÜ 2); Residency in Germany or an EU member state for at least five years (required for SÜ 2); Must pass an entry/suitability examination for work in oxygen-reduced rooms.
