Job Summary

This senior researcher position involves leading the 1H-NMR Hub at the Institute for Building Materials, Solid Construction, and Fire Protection in Braunschweig, as part of the prestigious ERC-Synergy-Grant project "FatResCon." The primary responsibility is establishing and maintaining the new 1H-NMR facility dedicated to building materials research. The successful candidate will develop novel 1H-NMR relaxometry approaches to investigate water distribution, pore structure, and hydration phases in eco-efficient binders. Key tasks include creating numerical scripts for calculating the inversion of NMR data, presenting findings at international conferences, and mentoring students. This role requires a completed PhD in a relevant scientific field, such as Physics or Materials Science, and significant practical experience in NMR spectroscopy or relaxometry, focusing on methods development and data processing. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research aimed at developing prediction tools for durable, eco-efficient infrastructure within a highly collaborative international consortium across Europe.
