Job Summary

This role involves cutting-edge research in superconducting quantum circuits, focusing specifically on Traveling-Wave Parametric Amplifiers (TWPA) within the national metrology institute, PTB, in Braunschweig. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of superconducting quantum electronic circuits operating at GHz frequencies. Key tasks include numerical and Finite-Element simulations, layout, and fabrication of circuits using Niobium and Aluminum technologies with Josephson junctions. A core part of the job is the electronic characterization of these circuits in cryogenic setups, including liquid helium (4K) and dilution cryostats (mK temperatures). Furthermore, the role requires the continuous development of measurement systems, both hardware (mK probe holders) and software (using Python). This position offers the chance to conduct high-level technological research, build upon existing expertise in quantum electronics, and publish scientific results in an internationally recognized research environment.
