Job Summary
This critical leadership role involves the overall coordination and management of the Civil and Disaster Protection Staff (Katastrophenschutzstab) for the Hannover Region, focusing on preparedness and response to extraordinary events and disasters. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust command structures, developing operational instructions for crisis staff, and coordinating the organization and readiness of the Technical Operations Management team. Key daily tasks include designing, conducting, and evaluating staff training and large-scale disaster exercises, as well as leading the staff during actual emergencies. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or a related legal discipline, coupled with long-standing professional experience in the required field. Prior knowledge or experience in population protection, ideally gained through volunteer or professional work in organizations like the Fire Department or THW, is essential. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Administrative Business Management, or a related legal field; or successful completion of the Second Employee Examination (equivalent to a professional qualification for public service).
Experience
- Long-standing professional experience based on required qualifications

- Experience gained through professional or volunteer work (e.g., Fire Department, aid organizations, THW)

- Willingness to undergo a security clearance according to the Security Clearance Act; Must be able to access non-barrier-free or poorly accessible areas (e.g., basements, terrain inspections).
