Job Summary

This critical role involves supporting the maintenance, expansion, and modernization of Berlin's extensive 36,000 km power grid, focusing specifically on medium-voltage switchgear and power supply systems within substations. The primary objective is to ensure the self-sufficiency and operational security of these facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include formulating technical specifications for the commissioning of battery and rectifier systems, conducting detailed fault analysis, and developing corrective action recommendations. The technician will also coordinate complex technical issues with specialized departments, define the scope of maintenance measures, and manage sub-projects related to new construction or modifications. Key requirements include a completed technical or master craftsman qualification in Electrical Engineering, fundamental knowledge of operating and maintaining batteries and rectifiers in high-voltage networks, and proficiency with Office 365 and SAP. This permanent position offers a competitive salary (€50,000–€64,000), a 37-hour flexible work week, and the chance to drive the energy transition in a stable, essential utility company.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a certified Technician or Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in fault analysis and troubleshooting of power supply systems
  • Experience in formulating technical specifications for system commissioning
