Job Summary
The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a dedicated Technical Assistant to join the Primary Cancer Prevention department in Heidelberg on a part-time (70%) and initially fixed-term basis. This role is crucial for supporting cancer prevention and early detection studies by focusing on the routine processing of human biological samples, including blood derivatives, stool, saliva, urine, and tissue, strictly following established standard protocols. Key responsibilities involve meticulous sample handling, proper storage, and accurate registration within the Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS). The ideal candidate will possess a background as an MTLA or BTA, experience with molecular methods like PCR and ELISA is desirable, and must demonstrate a high degree of personal responsibility, organization, and motivation. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Medical Technical Laboratory Assistant (MTLA), Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in processing human biological samples (desirable)
- Professional experience in molecular methods (PCR, qRT-PCR, ELISA) - desirable

- Initial contract duration of 1 year (extension possible); Must provide proof of immunity against measles (due to Infection Protection Act - IfSG)
