Job Summary

This role offers comprehensive administrative support within the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy at FAU, focusing on critical financial and personnel management tasks. The assistant will be responsible for the administration and accounting of departmental budgets and third-party funds, including budgeting and controlling. Key duties also involve personnel and position administration, handling HR-relevant processes in coordination with central offices. Furthermore, the position requires managing general administrative duties, including correspondence in both German and English, supporting public relations efforts, organizing events, and maintaining the department's bilingual (German/English) website. The ideal candidate must possess a completed commercial apprenticeship or comparable long-term professional experience, excellent German (C2) and good English (B2) skills, and proficiency in MS Office programs. Experience in a university setting and familiarity with specific university management tools are highly desirable.
