Job Summary

This role involves serving as a Specialist/Consultant within the Department 615 "Building Technology, Building Physics" at the Ministry for Homeland, Municipalities, Building, and Digitalization of North Rhine-Westphalia. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling fundamental and specific issues related to building technology and physics, particularly concerning structural loads, fire protection, plastics construction, fastening technology, and pollutants. The specialist will assess the usability of construction products and methods, issue approvals, and maintain legal and administrative regulations related to building product law. Success in this position requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering, coupled with professional experience in building technology and knowledge of building regulations. The position offers a varied and challenging public service role with good career development opportunities and flexible working models.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master's or university Diploma) in Civil Engineering with a structural engineering focus in high-rise construction

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in preparing or reviewing structural stability proofs for buildings
  • In-depth knowledge and professional experience in building technology
  • Experience presenting to large audiences (advantageous)
