Job Summary

The Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and Organization IAO is seeking an engaged and visionary leader to head the 'eXtended Environments' research team. This role focuses on applied research in eXtended Reality (XR, including AR/MR/VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically applied to urban systems such as Smart Cities, Real Estate, and Tourism. Day-to-day responsibilities include the technical and scientific leadership of an international team, strategic development of the research area, and the acquisition and management of high-excellence R&D projects. The Team Lead is also responsible for operating and expanding innovative technological infrastructure, including various XR demonstrators. The ideal candidate holds a scientific university degree (with or interested in a PhD) in fields like Software Engineering or Computer Science, possesses proven leadership ability, and deep expertise in XR and AI technologies, offering a unique opportunity to drive innovation at the intersection of research and industry.
