Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Senior System Engineer focused on ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation and continuous development of the central VDI and application delivery platform, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Day-to-day responsibilities include stabilizing and optimizing the Citrix VDI environment, performing planning, administration, and advanced troubleshooting (2nd/3rd level support), and managing Change, Release, and Configuration processes. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of professional experience in complex Citrix/VDI environments, strong scripting skills (especially PowerShell), and profound knowledge of the security lifecycle for IT services. The position requires an IT degree or equivalent training, ITIL Foundation certification, and the ability to work independently and customer-focused. This is a critical role contributing to the digital future and operational readiness of one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures, offering flexible work arrangements and a secure, permanent contract.
