Job Summary

This is a critical leadership role overseeing the operation, strategic development, and modernization of the municipal Data Center and central IT services for the City of Rostock. The Head of Department will ensure the smooth and secure operation of the entire city-wide IT infrastructure, aligning all activities with the overall municipal IT strategy. Key responsibilities include managing infrastructure modernization projects, coordinating the Data Center's construction and operation, and implementing and developing central ITIL processes like Information Security and Change Enablement. The successful candidate will provide disciplinary and technical leadership to three team leads (Networks/Telecommunications, Central Services, End Devices) and manage personnel planning. Requirements include a Master's degree in Computer Science, extensive leadership experience, and deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, database administration, and legal compliance (ISO 27001, BSI standards).
