Job Summary
This role involves working as a Research Associate within the Clinic for Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, collaborating closely with the Faculty of Applied Computer Science at the University of Augsburg. The successful candidate will independently manage and coordinate one or more research projects, focusing heavily on medical informatics, movement analysis, and neuroscientific evaluation of electrophysiological brain activity. Key responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, developing and validating AI-supported prediction and classification models, and publishing results in leading international journals and conferences. This position requires an outstanding background in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or Signal Analysis, excellent programming skills (C++, Java, Python, or similar), and strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning. It offers significant opportunities for scientific and personal development, including pursuing a PhD or Habilitation, within a qualified and international team.

Education
Outstanding Master's degree or outstanding Doctorate (PhD) in Computer Science with a focus on Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, or Signal Analysis
Experience
- Independent planning, execution, and coordination of research projects
- Experience in the acquisition of new research projects
- Experience in academic teaching
- Experience in conducting and evaluating experiments focused on medical informatics and neuroscientific data

- Part-time employment (70% of regular working hours, smaller scope possible); Fixed-term contract until December 31, 2027; Requirement for sufficient vaccination or immunity against measles (due to IfSG regulations for healthcare facilities); High level of self-reliance and initiative required.
