Job Summary
The City of Nürtingen is seeking a Head of IT to lead its Information Technology department starting July 1, 2026. This leadership role is crucial for managing a modern, virtualized IT and telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring efficient and disruption-free service delivery for the municipal administration. Key day-to-day responsibilities include leading the IT team, overseeing the operation, maintenance, and strategic development of networks, servers, clients, and cloud services. The successful candidate will also be responsible for IT project management, centralized procurement, budget planning, and coordinating external service providers. A critical function involves acting as the Information Security Coordinator, implementing security measures in accordance with ISMS and BSI-Grundschutz standards. Candidates must hold a degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification, or relevant IT vocational training combined with several years of professional experience in IT project management and infrastructure administration. This position offers the chance to drive the city's digital transformation within a dedicated team environment.
