Job Summary
The City of Nürtingen is seeking an experienced Head of IT to lead its Information Technology department, starting July 1, 2026. This role is crucial for managing, maintaining, and advancing the municipal IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, clients, and cloud services. The successful candidate will be responsible for IT budget planning, central procurement, and coordinating external service providers and contracts. A key aspect of the role involves serving as the Information Security Coordinator, implementing security measures based on ISMS (BSI Basic Protection) and ensuring compliance with IT standards and security guidelines. This position requires strong project management skills to plan and execute IT projects, such as the introduction of new technologies, in collaboration with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Computer Science or a related field, coupled with strong analytical skills, leadership potential, and proficiency in both German and English.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science or comparable higher education degree, or a successfully completed IT vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) combined with professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in managing IT projects
- Professional experience in server and network infrastructure administration
- Multi-year relevant professional experience (if IT training is the highest qualification)
- Experience in the municipal sector (advantageous)
- Leadership experience (advantageous)
