Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Doctoral Researcher to join the Neurophysiology Department at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, focusing on memory research in rodents using behavioral experiments combined with advanced molecular techniques. The successful candidate will dedicate their dissertation project to investigating appetitive extinction learning using transgenic rodent models. Day-to-day tasks involve conducting behavioral studies, performing subsequent analysis using Immunohistochemistry and Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH), and potentially integrating chemogenetic and/or optogenetic methods based on prior experience. Key requirements include a Master's degree in a relevant field like Neuroscience or Biology, and strong proficiency in English. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual passionate about exploring the molecular basis and neural networks underlying memory mechanisms, contributing to a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, and enrolling in the International Graduate School of Neuroscience.
