Job Summary
This role is ideal for a highly motivated Biologist or Research Associate interested in cellular mechanisms, particularly how environmental chemicals, such as plasticizers and micro/nanoplastic particles, contribute to obesity and associated inflammatory responses. The professional will be responsible for both research and teaching duties within the Cell Biology working group at a technical university. Day-to-day activities involve conducting scientific research focused on cellular mechanisms, including receptor interaction, signaling pathways, and metabolism, utilizing cell culture (adipocytes and macrophages) and molecular/Omics methods. The role also requires significant involvement in teaching, including preparing and conducting practicals and exercises for Biotechnology and Life Science degree programs, curriculum development, and supervising student theses. This position offers excellent conditions for scientific qualification, including the opportunity to pursue a Habilitation.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree (Master / Diploma / equivalent) in a relevant field (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or comparable); Relevant Doctoral degree (PhD)
Experience
- Relevant professional experience in cell culture, particularly with macrophages and/or adipocytes
- Experience in the analysis of Omics data
- Experience with R software
- Experience in preparing and conducting academic exercises and practicals
- Experience in preparing and conducting third-party funded projects (BMFTR, DFG, Industry projects)
