Job Summary

This role involves acting as a key consultant for various departments (Manufacturing, Development, Purchasing) and suppliers regarding non-destructive testing, materials, and specialized processes within the aerospace sector. The Materials Engineer will be instrumental in supporting internal manufacturing operations by applying specialized processes to aerospace components, and introducing new materials and processes to the production environment. A core function includes analyzing, evaluating, validating, and approving the condition of metallic aerospace materials—from forged and cast parts to finished products—after mechanical processing or specialized treatments such as welding, thermal treatment, surface treatment, and non-destructive testing. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Materials Engineering, possesses fundamental knowledge of material processing, and has relevant professional experience in the metalworking industry, preferably in aerospace component manufacturing. Fluency in both German and English is required, along with a willingness to undertake occasional business travel.

Additional

  • Level III or experienced Level II certification (EN4179/NAS410) in Non-Destructive Testing for fluorescent penetrant inspection and radiography (desirable); Willingness for occasional business travel; Permanent contract.
