Job Summary

This role involves working as a Civil Engineer specializing in road construction for the Rotenburg (Wümme) district, which manages approximately 650 km of district roads, 380 km of cycle paths, and 130 engineering structures. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex infrastructure projects, including the expansion of pedestrian and cycle networks, urban thoroughfares, and bridge construction. Day-to-day tasks include tendering and awarding contracts to external engineering firms, supervising their project implementation until construction readiness, processing road construction permits, and managing the application and accounting of subsidies, often involving third-party municipalities. The position requires a degree in Civil Engineering, knowledge of German fee structures (HOAI) and procurement law, and strong communication skills to mediate and represent viewpoints effectively in complex technical situations.
