Job Summary

This role seeks a highly experienced Senior Scientist to act as a subject matter expert in liquid chromatography (LC) analysis for a global contract research and development organization (CRDO) specializing in biopharmaceutical drug products. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful development and execution of LC analysis for worldwide clients, focusing on characterizing biopharmaceutical molecules like proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids. Key duties include de novo LC method development, maintaining cutting-edge scientific knowledge, and driving innovation in LC technology. Furthermore, the Senior Scientist will function as a project leader for client projects, managing planning, method implementation, data evaluation, and reporting. This position requires deep industry experience in biopharmaceutical characterization by LC and strong project management skills, offering an opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative drugs.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, (bio)chemistry, or a related field. PhD related to (U)HPLC method development or retention mechanism studies is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in biopharmaceutical characterization by LC (with relevant PhD)
  • Minimum of 9 years of industry experience in biopharmaceutical characterization by LC (without relevant PhD)
  • In-depth knowledge in biopharmaceutical characterization by LC (RP, SEC, IEX)
  • Hands-on experience with (U)HPLCs from different vendors (e.g., Dionex/Thermo Fisher, Waters, Agilent)
  • Experience with developing, transferring, and troubleshooting LC analytical methods in an industry setting
  • Significant experience as a project manager
