Job Summary

This Senior Scientist role involves leading the research and development of biopharmaceutical formulations and lyophilization processes, focusing specifically on state-of-the-art Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) analytics. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, responsible for developing and executing CE analysis for global clients, including de novo method development and data interpretation in conjunction with other analytical techniques like LC-MS. Key responsibilities include maintaining cutting-edge scientific knowledge in CE, driving innovation to meet evolving business needs, and functioning as a project leader for assigned client projects. This position requires a strong background in biopharmaceutical characterization, extensive hands-on experience with various CE instruments, and proven project management and leadership skills, offering a vital role within a highly motivated, interdisciplinary contract research organization.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, (bio)chemistry, or a related field; PhD related to separation sciences (ideally focused on CE applications) is preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience with PhD in a relevant field, or 9 years without PhD
  • In-depth knowledge of biopharmaceutical characterization by CE (CE-SDS, CZE, cIEF)
  • Several years of hands-on experience with CE instruments from different vendors (e.g., Sciex, BioTechne/ProteinSimple, Agilent)
  • Proven experience in developing, transferring, and troubleshooting CE analytical methods in R&D and GMP environments
  • Demonstrated project management skills (planning, prioritization, risk management)
