Job Summary
This Technical Assistant role supports the newly established iPSC and Brain Organoid Technology Hub at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, a leading research institution focusing on Systems Neurology. The successful candidate will be crucial in generating, maintaining, and differentiating human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) into neural 2D and 3D organoid models. Day-to-day responsibilities include executing sterile cell-culture workflows, performing quality control, and supporting gene-editing techniques like CRISPR/Cas9. The position requires a completed BTA, MTA, or CTA qualification and practical experience in cell culture, ideally with stem cells or organoid systems. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a cutting-edge German Excellence Cluster, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a friendly, international research environment, while receiving specialized training in advanced cell-culture methodologies.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a Biomedical Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), or comparable laboratory qualification
Experience
- Practical experience in cell culture
- Highly desirable experience with iPSCs, stem cells, or organoid systems
- Experience with or interest in gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9, molecular cloning, or related techniques)

Additional
- Fixed-term contract for two years with the possibility of extension; Must adhere to safety and biosafety procedures.
