Job Summary

This critical role seeks a Process Engineer to coordinate and lead the process transfer for upstream biopharmaceutical processes within the Focused Factory Microbial at the Vienna site. The position involves playing a vital role in the production of biopharmaceutical active ingredients by managing processes up to 6000 L fermenter volume. Daily responsibilities include the technical coordination of process and technology transfer, scale-up activities from internal development or third-party clients, and the specialized planning and leadership of large-scale technical test runs (Engineering Runs). The engineer acts as the key technology interface between Production, Manufacturing Science, and Process Science/Development, while also contributing to essential process validation and regulatory submission documentation. Candidates must possess a scientific degree in Biotechnology or Process Engineering, combined with practical experience in microbial fermentation and recombinant protein expression. Fluent English is required, along with a professional demeanor suitable for managing international client relationships, making this an excellent challenge for scientifically minded professionals focused on quality and entrepreneurial thinking.
