This role seeks a highly motivated Research Associate to contribute to the development of an AI-based clinical decision support system specifically tailored for the radiotherapy of brain tumors. The core responsibilities involve developing and validating machine learning models to predict individual risks of therapy-related side effects, comparing photon and proton-based treatment approaches, and supporting shared decision-making between medical staff and patients. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in fields such as Computer Science, Medical Physics, Data Science, or Biomedical Engineering, coupled with strong programming skills, preferably in Python. Experience in machine learning, explainable AI (XAI), or medical imaging is essential. This position, based at OncoRay, offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge personalized cancer treatment, integrating predictive models into a functional system and evaluating it during a clinical pilot phase, making a direct impact on patient care.
