Job Summary

The Aachen Police Headquarters is seeking an Information Security Officer to join their Central Tasks Directorate, starting January 1, 2026. This role is crucial for maintaining the security posture of the police authority, which operates in the challenging 'Three-Country Corner' bordering the Netherlands and Belgium. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising leadership and departments on identified risks, developing and updating the authority's security concept based on ISO/IEC 27001 and BSI standards, and managing the Information Security Management System (ISMS) tool. The officer will also conduct Grundschutz-Checks and risk analyses, monitor compliance with security regulations, and lead targeted training and awareness campaigns. Key qualifications include a degree in Cyber Security, IT Security Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, along with a mandatory willingness to undergo an extended security clearance (SÜ 2). This position offers a secure, permanent part-time contract (30 hours/week), temporarily augmented to full-time for the first year, with public sector benefits and flexible working hours.
