Job Summary

This role involves supporting and advancing the Labor Information System (LIS) and other specialized laboratory applications within the Hessian State Laboratory (LHL) in Giessen. The successful candidate, an Informatics Professional, will be crucial in managing core data capture, database structures, and interfaces across various critical areas like food safety, veterinary medicine, and environmental analysis. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining the LIS, developing new software solutions, creating and managing import/export interfaces to external databases (federal, state, EU) and analytical devices, and providing user training. Key requirements include a degree in Informatics, strong database management skills (specifically MS SQL), and proven programming experience in database-supported application development using the .NET framework.
