Job Summary

This role is perfect for a qualified Engineer, Technician, or Master Craftsman specializing in Electrical Engineering (ELT) or Building Automation (GA) looking to advance their career in the public sector. Based in Frankfurt, you will join the Federal Construction division of LBIH, managing diverse construction projects including new builds, refurbishments, and maintenance. Day-to-day tasks involve overseeing fire protection and energy efficiency renovations (e.g., BMA, LED lighting, PV systems), expanding e-mobility infrastructure, and modernizing server rooms and building automation systems. You will also conduct minor in-house planning for electrical, hazard detection, and communication systems, manage external engineering firms, and ensure projects adhere to public procurement laws, deadlines, and budgets. Success requires strong technical knowledge, proficiency in relevant standards (VDE, HOAI), negotiation skills, and a service-oriented approach. This is a crucial position supporting the maintenance and modernization of state-owned properties.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (FH Diploma/Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering or Building Automation, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, completed training as a state-certified Technician or Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering or Building Automation.

Experience

  • Professional experience in planning and construction management
  • Long-term relevant professional experience (required for Technicians/Master Craftsmen without a degree)
  • Experience with public procurement and contract law (desired)
  • Experience in coordinating planning services with BIM and BNB (desired)
