Job Summary

The Burgenland district administration is seeking a full-time IT System Administrator to join the Office for Digitization and Information Technology. This role is crucial for managing the operational IT infrastructure within the district office and local schools, supporting the ongoing digitization efforts to create an efficient, citizen-friendly administration. Day-to-day responsibilities include the system administration of virtualized Windows environments, providing 2nd-level support and user consultation, and coordinating the installation and configuration of central applications and specialized technical components. The ideal candidate will have completed training as an IT Specialist in System Integration or equivalent, possessing strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, network administration (LAN/WAN), and Office applications. This position is initially fixed-term until September 30, 2026, with the expectation of permanent employment thereafter, offering flexible hours and home office opportunities.

Completed training as an IT Specialist in System Integration (Fachinformatiker/in Fachrichtung Systemintegration) or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Experience with installation, setup, and operation of current Windows Server versions (Active Directory Service, DHCP, DNS)
  • Experience with current Windows Client versions
  • Experience with administration of Linux Distributions
  • Experience with LAN and WAN networks
  • Knowledge in administration and working with a Document Management System (DMS) is advantageous
